
Biography
Kimberly Rible is a Partner at Gaines & Stacey LLP, a San Fernando Valley based law firm which specializes in land use, zoning, environmental law, related litigation, and political advocacy. The firm, which has offices in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, provides counsel and services to property owners, real estate developers, government agencies, community groups, and individuals related to land use, real estate, and general business issues.
Ms. Rible’s practice involves a variety of land use, planning and zoning, and environmental matters. She has extensive experience with administrative approvals and land use entitlements, assisting clients in a variety of projects from the initial planning stages to project approval. The California Coastal Act and California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) are an integral part of Ms. Rible’s practice, and she regularly assists clients with environmental review of projects in the entitlement process and in writ litigation involving the Coastal Act and CEQA. She is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before all California State Courts and the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
Ms. Rible is an active member of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association’s (“VICA”) Land Use Committee, the Los Angeles County and San Diego County Bar Associations, and the Urban Land Institute. She previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Valley Leadership Institute, a group committed to identifying, educating, and preparing future leaders of the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles region. She is also an active volunteer and member of Female Athlete Volunteers and sits on the Board of Teen Volunteers in Action, both of which are parent/teen community service organizations.
Ms. Rible is a four time recipient of the Super Lawyers Southern California “Rising Star” Award and a credentialed LEED Green Associate.
A California native, Ms. Rible was born in Los Angeles and raised in San Diego’s coastal North County. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature, with a minor in fine arts, from St. Lawrence University in upstate New York. During college, she also studied art history and theater in London, England. After graduation, Ms. Rible obtained her paralegal certificate and worked in that capacity in the litigation department of Baker & McKenzie’s San Diego office and then in the legal department at the Telluride, Colorado ski resort. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law where she received honors for her participation in the Land Use Clinic.
After a nine year stint in Los Angeles, Ms. Rible returned to coastal San Diego in 2010 where she now resides with her husband and their two teenagers, August and Emerson.
